Tweet—How I'm creating a digital forest of notes.Creating your personal, digital forest of notes is a powerful method for thinking & creating better outputs.

But what does it actually mean?

Read the thread to find out: Here's my take.

Book notesWithout Their Permission by Alexis OhanianHere's the guy behind Reddit and Hipmunk who has been in Y Combinator telling you how to do startups. Interesting read.

This was #125. We're slowly accumulating knowledge... 🧠Just remember: knowledge demands action.

Remembering our mortality

In Without Their Permission, I was reminded of Memento Mori.It is Latin for "remember your mortality".

This is because, growing up, Alexis Ohanian had the words "LIVES REMAINING: 0" written on the wall in his room.

I created a poster of my own:

Lives Remaining: 0

Remember that you too shall die. This, to me, is a powerful Stoic technique for becoming more appreciative of life.Seneca says it best:

“Let us prepare our minds as if we’d come to the very end of life. Let us postpone nothing. Let us balance life’s books each day. … The one who puts the finishing touches on their life each day is never short of time.”

— Seneca
