Sunday Goodies

Hey there!
It's Sunday, which means that it's time for an email packed with some great content, just for you.
How To Get Rich
I recently finished the book How To Get Rich by Felix Dennis.
Check out my notes on it here (as well as a link to it):
Here are my thoughts on it:
Dennis has practiced what he's preaching. There are no extras to buy. Just practical advice to implement if you want to become rich. Easier said than done. Getting rich isn't easy. But if you want it, you'll have to work for it.
I'm currently reading
, so I'll be sharing my notes on that book next week. So far, it's a 5/5.
Rationalization
We rationalize our feelings with our logical thinking. And then we act upon our feelings. But feelings do not help you grow. They want ice cream when you want less fat.
Stop identifying with your feelings and anything external. You are human. That is the obstacle you have to overcome in order to be in control of yourself.
Hunger is a feeling (and a biological process, but...) that could potentially ruin something you set out to do - for example, a fast. Hunger is not something you have to submit to.
Our feelings will get in the way of our well thought out plan to improve ourselves. Don't let them. Don't give your feeling the gravity.
You don't have to respond or act on every feeling or thought you have.
Your brain interprets everything you see, hear, touch (and so on). Remember that your brain's interpretation might not be a good one. Check the filter through which you see the world (see:
).
Put this through the lens of reason. Do not fast if you are feeling ill. Stay safe & healthy. That's what matters. But remember that you have impulses. And you don't have to react to all of them.
