Sunday Goodies

Hey there!
It's Sunday, which means that it's time for an email packed with some great content, just for you.
Wisdom Reminder
Just wanted to update you all. I have Wisdom Reminder working perfectly now. It's currently sending me 5 snippets every morning.
I'll write a blog post about how I did it. There were quite a few issues that I ran into, so it might be helpful. Stay tuned for that!
First Principles Thinking
I had heard about it a few times before.
And it's something that has occupied my mind for some time now.
So I decided to begin researching it.
Here are just a few notes on it.
I'm planning on writing a blog post on it later.
First Principles Thinking: Building from some unequivocal base facts up toward some vision/explanation of reality. Reasoning by deduction, rather than analogy or appeal to authority.
Too many people think with labels but never go beyond them.
Learn to break down how things work and derive your own answers based on first principles.
When you're told 'it cannot be done', first principles will help you ask 'why not?'.
Lots of those who explain first principles thinking do it using authorities to explain it (Naval, Munger, Musk). If you need authorities to be sold on it, you haven't gotten the point.
The Ultimate Startup Library
Do you know YCombinator? It's a startup accelerator (they invest in startups and help them grow).
They're sharing their advice. Publicly.
Not only do they have a
on creating and running startups; they've also gathered all of their resources on one page:
.
You should also check out their
, where they share tons of cool content as well.
