Hey there!

It's Sunday, which means that it's time for an email packed with some great content, just for you.

What I've Made for You

This week, I finished a few books.

Here are my book notes:

Fun and easy read. The SEAL, David Goggins, wrote his own book; "Can't Hurt Me". Both books have their merits, but I'd recommend David's book every time - by a landslide.

Great read. Absolutely delivers on the promise of explaining why we get fat, and what to do about it. Eye-opening in some ways; though I already have heard of similar accounts.

Great Tools

I've discovered quite a few great tools that I'm testing right now.

Readwise

The first one that I want to mention is

.

Implementing Readwise into my workflow has been an absolutely immense boost to productivity.

It makes note-taking for reading and saving content so much easier.

The Readwise -> Notion sync is incredible.

I can literally read a book on my iPad, send my notes to their email, and it automatically gets ported to my Notion - and it gets formatted quite nicely.

There are so many other great features as well. It does what my WisdomReminder* does, and so much more.

I'm probably going to be explaining how I use Readwise. Huge fan already.

* Automatically sends me an email with snippets that I've saved. Makes revisiting books and other content automatic.

InstaPaper

Do you know Pocket? If so, it's kind of like that.

lets you save written content very easily. But you can also highlight and take notes.

I wasn't as easily hook on it as Readwise. Why? Because I already have a

.

Where it really gets me though is the integration with Readwise. And integration with Readwise means integration with Notion. So I'm happy.

Airr

This app solves a huge problem for me.

lets you save podcast clips.

So imagine that you're driving while listening to a podcast. You hear someone say something really great. But you're driving, so you can't write it down!

What do you do? Well, you had just downloaded Airr! So you either ask Siri to save an AirrQuote, or you press the 'Previous Track' button on your radio. Then it automatically saves a clip of that part of the podcast. Great, isn't it?

By the way, this also integrates with Readwise. You can see where I'm going with this, right?

Readwise syncs with Notion. So your podcast clips are saved right into your Notion, too.

Shortcuts

IOS 14 introduced automation for the Shortcuts app.

What does this let you do? Well, I imagine quite a bit once it takes off.

Both Shortcuts and automations are kind of hurt by a lack of fine-tuning and 3rd party support.

I'm hoping that it'll be further developed in the future.

But it's already kind of great.

I made automations that (1) automatically dim my lights when it's almost time for bed, and (2) it turns off the lights when I'm going to bed.

Okay, that's a lot of tools to share.

I'm going to expand on how I'm using them (and how you can, too!) in the future. I just need to test them more. Explore their features, etc.
